YOUTH TEAM
TEAM Inner Peaks. Rock climbing is one of few sports that teach responsibility through safety, self-esteem through achievement and strength, both physically and mentally. It is also an ambidextrous sport which aids in the development of a child’s muscular system.
WHAT IS TEAM Inner Peaks? It’s a great opportunity for children 7-17 years of age to learn how to rock climb in a controlled and structured environment. Participants are coached in small groups according to their abilities and progress at their own pace. Whatever level they achieve, rock climbing is a great way to increase strength, improve self-esteem, and meet others who love to climb as much as they do.
WE PROVIDE TEAM members opportunities for competition, outdoor climbing at regional areas and other various activities/ events such as “Bring-a-Friend” nights.
WE TEACH everything from basic safety skills to advanced competition climbing techniques, as well as indoor lead climbing.

RECREATIONAL CLIMBING TEAM

Fridays 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Saturdays 10:00am – 12:00pm
Our Recreational climbing practice is for ages 7 and up with an emphasis on basic skill-building and fun supervised climbing. In this team you will learn the foundations of top-roping and bouldering as well as how to safely belay with both a Gri-Gri and an ATC.
The main goal of our Recreational Team is having fun! Rock climbing is a blast and our practices are filled with plenty of time to climb. At the end of most practices we play climbing games. This brings our climbers together to playfully challenge themselves while laughing and interacting with their teammates and instructors.
JUNIOR TEAM
Our Junior Team practices are 1 ½ hours, which we have found is perfect for this age group. During this time, our climbers come together to playfully challenge themselves while laughing and interacting with their teammates and instructors.
INTERMEDIATE TEAM

Tuesday and Thursdays 6:30pm-8:30pm
At the end of many practices, climbing games are played. However, for the Intermediate team, the climbing games are a little more challenging and will help push our climbers while at the same time giving them a period to just have fun with their teammates. Attendance for both nights is strongly encouraged, but not mandatory.
Prerequisite: Inner Peaks top-rope certification. This means that you are certified to belay with an ATC. If you do not have this certification you can join our Recreational Team and learn the necessary skills and then move to Intermediate. For most participants this can be accomplished in about a month.
COMPETITION TEAM

Tuesday and Thursdays 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Going to competitions is not a requirement of this team, although it is strongly encouraged. We participate in USA Climbing sanctioned events. For information on USA Climbing visit their website at www.usaclimbing.org. Attendance for both nights is highly encouraged, but not mandatory.
