Camp Inner Peaks: New Rockers
Ideal for young beginner climbers, this is a basic camp for kids age 7-10 who want a safe, fun introduction to the world of rock climbing. New Rockers is comprised of five, 6-hour days at the Inner Peaks facility. The children will learn basic rock climbing skills and will have lots of less structured time playing games, climbing and doing some indoor repelling and Tyrolean traverse. Camp Inner Peaks: Wall Crawlers Wall Crawlers is appropriate for beginner climbers (children ages 9-14) who have never climbed before or who have enjoyed occasional visits to our facility. The Wall Crawlers camp runs from 9AM-5PM* and includes two outdoor days! Campers learn basic climbing safety skills including how to put on a climbing harness, how to tie safety knots and how to operate a belay device. In addition to the traditional climbing activities, Inner Peaks has created unique games and initiatives designed to strengthen body, mind and spirit. Other skills taught will include wilderness survival, first aid and practical meteorology with the first outdoor day of the week on Wednesday. As a grand finale, campers will spend the last day of camp climbing in the great outdoors at Crowder’s Mountain State Park. Gear list available.

Camp Inner Peaks: Wilderness (Rock Jocks) Our Wilderness Camp, or Rock Jocks, is a program for intermediate climbers (children ages 12 & up) who have basic belay skills and want to learn about climbing in an outdoor setting. Wilderness camp hours for indoor days run from 9AM-5PM* and includes three days at Linville Gorge! Campers will spend Monday and Tuesday at Inner Peaks reviewing necessary safety skills. The next three days and two nights will be spent in the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area where everyone will get the opportunity to climb, rappel, hike, and camp in a true back country setting. We will also be teaching many foundation skills for the back country climber including how to hike safely in rough terrain, practical meteorology and basic first aid. All participants are expected to know how to belay, and are required to pass a belay check before the first day of camp. Gear list available. Camp Session: July 21-25 FULL!
